Kotashiro moorlands spread out before the summit. It is home to many valuable alpine plants.

The bunchberry is a perennial plant found in the north central region of central Honshu and Hokkaido. They are often found in subalpine zones.

Cotton grass is also known as "sparrow’s hair spear (keyari)" and can be found in high-altitude moorlands of the northern part of the central region in Japan. The white part is not a flower but cotton grass.
