Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Mitsui”) recognizes that the protection of personal data is an important corporate social responsibility and has established the following Personal Data Protection Policy for handling, controlling, and maintaining personal data.

Personal Data Protection Policy

1.Acquisition, use, and provision of personal data

When acquiring, using, and/or providing personal data, Mitsui recognizes the importance of protecting personal data and handles all such data in an appropriate manner.

2.Implementation of safety measures

By maintaining an optimal system for stringently controlling personal data and building logical safety control measures, as mentioned in “Handling of Personal Information” 4., Mitsui has developed thorough preventative and corrective policies against illegal access to personal data, as well as against the loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage of such data.

3.Implementation of continuous improvement

Mitsui has established a system for the protection of personal data, and while implementing and maintaining said system, Mitsui regularly reviews it as part of its efforts for continuous improvement.

4.Compliance with laws and regulations

When handling personal data, Mitsui complies with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines regarding the protection of personal.

5.Promotion on a global group-wide basis

Mitsui will endeavor to establish a personal data protection system on a global, group-wide basis and to ensure that its group companies promote the implementation of the principles 1.-4. above.
