Yezo spruce and Sakhalin fir, which both represent Hokkaido, are broad-leaved trees in mixed forests.

Small, white flowers bloom on the anemone yezoensis.

The marsh marigold is edible, but has a slight bitter taste.

The orchis aristata are similar to flying plovers if you look closely at the petals.
