Extension of Interests in Oman LNG Project

Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui", Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Kenichi Hori) has reached agreement with the government of Oman to extend its interests in the Oman LNG project.

A ceremony to commemorate the extension was held in Oman on October 23, 2023, where shareholders of Oman LNG ("OLNG", annual production capacity: 7.6 million metric tons, Mitsui: 2.77%) and Qalhat LNG ("QLNG", annual production capacity: 3.8 million metric tons), which are LNG business operating companies, signed a shareholders agreement. Mitsui has indirectly invested in QLNG via OLNG.

In addition, the Omani government concluded a gas supply agreement with OLNG to supply natural gas (feed gas) to OLNG until 2034.

The shareholders of OLNG and QLNG after the conclusion of the agreement are as follows.

Mitsui has identified "Secure sustainable supply of essential products" as one of the five material issues in Mitsui & Co.'s Materiality.
Through this extension of the project, Mitsui will contribute to the securing of a stable supply of sustainable energy, further deepen its relationship with the Omani government, and promote business development in Oman.
