Overview of each of the three participating schools

Satoe Gakuen Elementary School

Participants:
90 elementary school 6th graders from 3 classes
Program Summary:
To help students formulate and deepen the research theme of their graduation thesis, we provided input on the SASUGAKU methods and advice from a global perspective and from the standpoint of commercialization.
Plenary lecture:
Students were divided into groups according to the stage they were at in deciding their graduation theme, and lectures were given by stage utilizing the "Beginner's class: Growing seeds of inquiry". Groups that had already decided on a theme presented their ideas to Mitsui employees, and employees offered advice on the students' ideas.

Participants:
77 elementary school 4th graders from 3 classes
Program Summary:
To expand ideas for eliminating school lunch leftovers, we provided input on the SASUGAKU method and introduced examples of Mitsui's initiatives in Africa.

186 junior high school 3rd graders from 5 classes
Program Summary:
To develop skills for inquiry-based learning, we provided input on the SASUGAKU method and introduced examples of Mitsui initiatives. The program utilized the "Beginner's class: Growing seeds of inquiry".
Plenary lecture:
Group exploration work using "Beginner's class: Growing seeds of inquiry", viewing Mitsui case studies (online videos), and brushing up ideas.
Conducted a plenary review.
