As of April 1st, 2026, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui", Head Office: Tokyo, President and CEO: Kenichi Hori) will conduct a restructuring of Business Units in order to drive the execution of the next Medium-term Management Plan (“MTMP”) with momentum. Mitsui has strong confidence in the effectiveness of the three Key Strategic Initiatives set forth under the current MTMP, Industrial Business Solutions, Global Energy Transition and Wellness Ecosystem Creation, through the delivery of robust results. Looking ahead, Mitsui will carry forward the direction of these Key Strategic Initiatives and expand our business foundation while aiming for a leap in profitability by leveraging Mitsui’s strong supply chain and diverse solution capabilities.

The overview of the organizational restructuring is as follows.

1. Establishment of Digital & Infrastructure Solutions Business Unit

In response to the sharp rise in demand for new infrastructure that supports the rapidly expanding digital society, Mitsui will build on its strengths in the power and energy sectors and capture growth across the entire value chain, including digital infrastructure and adjacent businesses.
Since its establishment, the Energy Solutions Business Unit has led and realized projects anticipated to become future pillars of Mitsui’s business portfolio. Through the organizational restructuring, the power generation business of the Energy Solutions Business Unit will be integrated with the Infrastructure Projects Business Unit to form the Digital & Infrastructure Solutions Business Unit, and drive scalable and sustainable growth in revenue.

2. Establishment of Integrated Energy Solutions Business Unit

Mitsui will continue to deliver optimum energy solutions from our diverse menu, ensure stable supply, and pursue new business opportunities that address social issues. For this purpose, we will merge the next-generation energy business of the Energy Solution Business Unit with Energy Business Unit I, to create the Integrated Energy Solutions Business Unit. In line with the foregoing change, Energy Business Unit II will be renamed the Global LNG Business Unit.

With the establishment of the Digital & Infrastructure Solutions Business Unit and the Integrated Energy Solutions Business Unit, Mitsui will make changes to its operating segments as outlined in the link below.

3. Launch of AI Strategy Unit

In light of the transformative progress of AI technology in society, Mitsui will establish the AI Strategy Unit under the direct supervision of the IT & Communication Business Unit COO. The AI Strategy Unit will serve as the company-wide Center of Excellence, aggregating know-how and creating new business opportunities through the implementation of AI. Mitsui will elevate its competitive edge by seamlessly integrating AI into business operations.
