"How can we create an environment where many people can come together and naturally collaborate? – That is the question I continue to ask myself throughout my involvement in the operation of the new Head Office building. We are working together with our affiliate company Aim Services to provide cafeteria management and refreshment services on office floors, but our ultimate goal goes beyond that – it is to support the new workstyle of the new Head Office.
Aim Services has extensive know-how that includes catering services at companies and hospitals, operation and management of training facilities, and stadium food services. My goal is to make full use of such knowledge, verify what works and what doesn’t through repeated trial and error, and create better services that match this next-generation workstyle. I myself would like to take advantage of the new Head Office functions and promote the involvement of people both inside and outside the company to generate new ideas.

My goal is to make full use of the functions of the new Head Office to allow me to go out and be on the front line at business sites more than ever before. I look after chemical trading, and communication between team members is of utmost importance as the situation changes rapidly from day to day. Now our team members are able to interact in real time through a variety of means without needing to be in the same place. I expect that the new Head Office will further accelerate these changes in our workstyle. Our job is to listen to the voices of domestic and foreign partners on the front line of business, and work to solve industry issues from all perspectives and means. In order to do so, we need a variety of professionals both inside and outside the company. At the new Head Office, I want to utilize CAMP as a place to interact with members and partners from other departments. I hope we can come together to create new solutions that only Mitsui can.

In conjunction with the move to the new Head Office, Mitsui has launched the Work-X Project, which is an employee-driven project that considers new ways of working. I am one of the members. When I’m working, I constantly ask myself, "What kind of people do I want to work with?"
This question was born out of the realization that, with the help of so many people both inside and outside the company I have had so much experience that would not have been achievable alone. Now, I'm working with the goal of creating a workplace where new values and businesses are constantly born, keeping in mind the additional question of, "What kind of company do I want to work with?" My aim is to collaborate with many people and use our imagination to create new ways of working, including addressing things like renewal of internal regulations and making our company completely paperless.

Mobility Business Unit I

My Business Unit covers automobiles, railways, construction and mining equipment, and all the functions and services associated with them. Of all Mitsui Business Units, it has the largest number of affiliated companies, and is home to many experienced professionals located across the world with vast experience in the establishment and management of corporations. By multiplying this experience from a variety of perspectives both inside and outside the company, we see countless opportunities to contribute to the world.
Based on this understanding, we are promoting the development of a co-creation system that makes full use of the functions of the new Head Office. We want to create new value for the world with a team that is overflowing with talent and transcends all boundaries. The mobility industry is at a major turning point as technology evolves, environmental requirements change, and customer needs shift. I am very excited at the opportunity to take on new challenges as a Shosha person during such a significant time for the industry.

This art piece was created using trees from Mitsui's company-owned forests located across 74 locations in Japan. It is made up of approximately 200 parts that have been carefully stacked. The shape of the sphere represents the cyclic and creative power of nature. While enriching the space through the blessings of nature, this piece symbolically conveys the diverse personalities of Mitsui & Co. people, who constantly take on new challenges and create new value.
