Mitsui Chairman Tatsuo Yasunaga Receives the Order of Rio Branco from the Government of Brazil

Tatsuo Yasunaga, Representative Director and Chairman of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui"; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), has received the Order of Rio Branco at the rank of Commander from the Government of Brazil. The investiture ceremony was held at the official residence of the Ambassador of Brazil in Tokyo on August 14.
The Order of Rio Branco was established in 1963 in honor of the Baron of Rio Branco, known as the father of Brazilian diplomacy. The decoration is awarded to Brazilian and foreign nationals who have made distinguished contributions to Brazil's international relations.
The decoration was awarded in recognition of Chairman Yasunaga's longstanding efforts to promote economic and industrial exchange with Brazil and his contribution to strengthening economic relations between Japan and Brazil. In addition to his work in Mitsui's business activities in Brazil, Chairman Yasunaga has served as Chairman of the Japan-Brazil Economic Committee of Keidanren since 2021 and has worked to advance bilateral economic relations through the Japan-Brazil Joint Economic Committee.
Mitsui has developed a broad range of businesses in Brazil over many years and has contributed to the economic development of both Japan and Brazil. Brazil is one of Mitsui's important partners, and Mitsui will continue to contribute to the country's sustainable growth and the further development of economic relations between Japan and Brazil through its business activities.
