Back to get their hands dirty

Aug. 16, 2022

Since 2015, Mitsui offices in Australia have been participating in the National Tree Day planting events at various locations around Australia.

Established in 1996 by Planet Ark, National Tree Day has grown into Australia's largest community tree-planting and nature care event. The program is a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty, give back to their community, and help plant one million native trees every year.

Unfortunately the event was cancelled the last two years due to COVID-19 or inclement weather. This year on Sunday 31 July, Mitsui Melbourne and Brisbane offices participated in the tree planting initiative.

Mitsui Australia’s CEO, Mr Masato Sugahara said at the Melbourne event,

‘’My wife and I purely enjoyed this year’s National Tree Day activity because it was not only
such a rewarding experience but also a great way to connect with fellow colleagues and their families outside of office environment. We would love to continue with this activity as one of Mitsui’s tradition for many years to come.’’
