KI students receive laptop donation

Jan. 13, 2022

The cost of rural students pursuing their post high school goals is often much greater than those of their metropolitan counterparts and sometimes these costs can be prohibitive. With this in mind, Mitsui recently donated 10 refurbished laptops to the Kangaroo Island Country Education Fund (KICEF) to provide to Island students pursuing further education in 2022.

Celebrating its fifteenth year of helping KI students meet the costs of further education, Mitsui’s Social Contributions Coordinator, Sachika Go said the work of the KICEF to increase access to education for KI’s youth is more important now than ever.

“On the back of the island’s devastating bushfires and unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the work of the KICEF to broaden the horizons of local students, and to support them to achieve their education goals post-high school is vital.”
