It may have been three years since Mitsui last hosted a boardroom luncheon with staff and students from the University of Western Australia’s Business School, but it was worth the wait.
This week, senior managers from across Mitsui’s corporate and operations functions, including iron ore, salt, forestry and oil and gas met with the students to outline their businesses, strategies and the corporate culture of Mitsui.
Mitsui Australia Director and General Manager of the Perth office, Mr Mitsutaka Nakao said the company has long term investments in WA and that providing an opportunity for the students to engage directly with the business is pivotal, both for their education and for the future of Western Australia.
"By connecting with the UWA we are investing in future business leaders. Our aim is to contribute to the future prosperity of the state and Australia," said Mr Nakao.
“The UWA Business School is one of the most influential business education institutions across Asia and Australia. To be able to engage with these talented students, who are at the start of their journey to become respected and innovative leaders of tomorrow, is a real privilege for Mitsui. We look forward to hosting another luncheon again soon.”
