Keen to get their hands dirty in 2022

Aug. 10, 2021

Mitsui staff were all set to connect with nature and their community across Sydney, Melbourne Brisbane and Perth as part of National Tree Day 2021 but with COVID-19 imposing significant constraints on public events the event was unfortunately cancelled.

“Our volunteers were disappointed because National Tree Day is such a great opportunity for people to do something for their local environment and experience the many benefits of spending time outdoors,” said Mitsui Australia’s Sustainability Manager, Kaoru Curmi.

“In saying that, while upset, we all recognise the need to follow the advice from governments and health authorities to ensure the health and wellbeing of the community.”

“On a personal note, I’d like to acknowledge the commitment of our staff that volunteer each year to help make National Tree Day a success and particularly this year, for such wonderful support in such challenging circumstances,” Kaoru said.

“In 2022, you can be sure that Mitsui staff and their families will be answering the call to action to get their hands dirty and give back to the community."
