Mitsui donates A$200,000 to help rebuild lives and communities

Mitsui Australia has today committed A$200,000 to assist bushfire-ravaged communities rebuild and recover in the months and years ahead.

 

“The firefighters, emergency services personnel and volunteers are true heroes, and we honour their tireless commitment as they continue to battle these devastating fires,” said Mitsui Australia CEO Noboru Katsu.

 

“Our hearts go out to the families and communities that have been so severely affected.”

 

“As a long-term partner with Australia, Mitsui extends its support towards rebuilding the lives and communities of those impacted by this disaster.”

 

Mitsui’s donation will contribute to planning for the recovery phase of the crisis through the Business Council of Australia’s Community Rebuilding Initiative. The initiative will focus on providing employment opportunities for volunteers and victims of the bushfires, offer reconstruction support and provide financial support through an independently managed and audited trust.
