Staff from Mitsui’s Sydney office recently got together to make
sandwiches for hungry kids. They joined with Eat
Up, a not for profit organisation that provides school lunches to students who
would otherwise go without. These include welfare dependent children, children
affected by drug and alcohol abuse and newly arrived refugees.
Mitsui Administration
Coordinator, Yukiko Hennessy said the activity was fun and the group was very
productive.
“It was great to work together
to fill some hungry tummies. Our goal was to make 1,000 sandwiches within an hour.
We surpassed this target making over 1,100 sandwiches,” Yukiko said.
By providing a school lunch to some of the most vulnerable
children in our community, Eat Up hopes to help children take advantage of
learning opportunities and succeed in education.
