Jun. 28, 2019

Mitsui & Co. (Australia) recently held functions at their Sydney and Perth offices to recognise and farewell students who are set to depart for Japan as participants in the New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mitsui Immersion Program.

The program affords an opportunity for students to learn about Mitsui's history, corporate philosophy and strategy, business and investment activities as well as analysing broader Japanese industry and technology development. To date, Mitsui have hosted more than 90 Australian university students on the program since its inception in 2015.

Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Executive Vice President and NCP Business Champion, Wendy Holdenson hosted the Sydney event and said intercultural immersion is an investment in strengthening closer regional ties that are vital for Australia’s future development.

“Mitsui is proud to play a part in contributing to the progress of international student exchange that fosters mutual understanding and friendship between Australia and its regional neighbours.”

A total of 14 students from across the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Western Australia will kick off their agenda in Tokyo at the start of July.
