Drums boomed, fists flew and taste buds buzzed at the recent Perth Japan Festival.

The annual festival is a celebration of the Japanese culture with the objective of brining the people of Western Australia and Japan closer together. It includes Japanese food stalls, small goods, and exhibits of cultural information. Stage events include Japanese martial arts, music and pop culture.

A formal dinner was held at the Western Australian Governor’s House as part of the festival celebrations with Japanese and West Australian political and business representatives attending including the WA Treasurer, Ben Wyatt, Consul-General of Japan in Perth, Mr Toru Suzuki and Mitsui Iron Ore Development Managing Director, Takahiro Doiuch.

Mitsui Iron Ore Development is a major sponsor of the cultural event which held every summer (around February or March) since 2013.
