Lane Cove National Park was a flurry of activity on the first Sunday in March as volunteers from Mitsui & Co.’s Sydney office joined with the Japanese Society of Sydney in donating their time and energy for Clean Up Australia Day.

The group worked tirelessly in hot conditions collecting rubbish from across the park and surrounding bushland.

Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Chief Operating Officer, Wendy Holdenson donned a pair of gloves and set about filling bags with litter.    

“This is a great day to join together with our Mitsui colleagues, friends and families to make a practical contribution to help protect and care for our environment,” Wendy said.

2019 marks 30 years since Ian Kiernan AO started Clean Up Australia Day which has grown into the nation’s largest community-based environmental event.
