In August, Mitsui Coal Holdings (MCH) supported the Coal & Country Festival in Moura, Queensland for the eleventh year in a row.  

MCH, Mitsui Australia, Mitsui E&P Australia, Komatsu Australia employees and their families, and Tokyo head office visitors volunteered their time so local residents could try Japanese food and cultural activities – all for a gold coin donation.

Over $1,700 was raised for three NPOs: Moura Blue Care, Moura Youth Centre and Moura Historical Society.

Our involvement with Moura began back in 1959 when Mitsui Mining geologists visited the vast Kianga-Moura field to explore for coal reserves. This led to our Moura coal mine joint venture, which started in 1962 and today operates under the name of Dawson.
