Activity grant

Project Description

This project is being proposed in recognition of the need to continue to address the extensive problems that still confront the IRT such as terrace erosion, unregulated tourism activities, loss of indigenous knowledge, and out-migration of young Ifugaos which result to the lack of succession in the farming of IRT. This project will conduct capacity building program by developing comprehensive training modules, train the on-site trainors from Ifugao. This will aslo mplement youth capacity-building programmes in areas relevant to sustainable development of the rich cultural and environmental heritage, IRT, their interlinkages and cross-cutting issues, in coordination with the local government (Ifugao LGU) and institution like IFSU and other sectors. Voice of Representative
The project will empower the youth of Ifugao with both the knowledge and leadership capability to sustain the IRT landscape. It will allow them to learn about Ifugao culture and respect their way of life, to learn from each other to promote a holistic view of rural and urban linkages and to appreciate the interconnectedness of these systems which hopefully will result to decrease in rural to urban migration as well as stimulate economic development, strengthen food security and preserving the rich cultural and environmental heritage of the Ifugaos.
