Project Description

The project has the aim of the prompt revival of the Ogatsu stone-related industry that includes ink stones, craft products, and slate materials. Based on the theme of the restoration of industrial production and living centered around the revival of the Ogatsu stone industry through industry-academia collaboration by the Tohoku Institute of Technology and the Ogatsu Suzuri Association, the purpose of the project is to put in practice location building (construction of industrial bases), thing building (product and logistics development), and people building (human resources development and interchange), and aim for the reconstruction of the Ogatsu region while working together with other industries (fisheries, food, and tourism) both inside and outside of the region.
