Comparative case study on resolution process of regional radioactive contamination

Research grant

Project Description

There is a long history of regional pollution caused by radioactivity and the causes and geographies are diverse. For political reasons, however, little cross-disciplinary research has been carried out, which means that there has been little progress in the sharing of solutions. Centered on Japan, a country that has experienced a number of issues with ratioactivity, this project represents the preparation stage for an international comparitive study. The project establishes a study framework for comparison items through field research on recent domestic issues and by organizing historic case studies of incidents in selected countries.
