Project Description

There has yet to be any research carried out on the viability of REDD+ incentives and safeguards for local people. This project involves multi-disciplinary research encompassing natural sciences and humanities and aims to evaluate the use of tropical forest resources in traditional practices by local peoples, clarify the impact of development on forest ecosystems, consider systems for increasing the participation of local peoples in the management of forest resources, and clarify the level of awareness of REDD+ incentives and safeguards among locals.
