NGO Involvement in Sustainable Energy Programs for International Development

Research grant

Project Description
This exploratory research project seeks to assess the role of NGOs in the sustainable provision of energy services in developing countries. The project will provide answers to questions at the intersections of two fields of research: one that looks at sustainable local-level energy production for economic and social development and another that looks at the collaborative governance in the management of service provision. The research seeks to provide policy makers and practitioners with information on which factors consistently contribute to successful NGO involvement, and how NGO involvement, in turn, can ensure the success of small-scale energy projects.
