Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui", Head Office: Tokyo, President and CEO: Kenichi Hori) has published its Global Talent Management Policy and Human Capital Report 2024 on its website under the "Human Resources Management in the Mitsui & Co. Group" section.

  1. Global Talent Management Policy
  2. Empowering People to Build Brighter Futures: Human Capital Report 2024 (with ISO30414 certification)

Mitsui has been working to create new value and contribute to the development of society by solving social issues. In order to respond flexibly to rapid changes in the business environment, it is essential to develop people who are capable of creating effective future strategies, and to maximize their respective abilities. As indicated by the growing public interest in human capital management in recent years, our employees are the company's most important management resource. The newly established Global Talent Management Policy is a worldwide basic policy that covers all global employees, and is a document that puts our thinking behind talent management into words and sets forth the aspirations of both employees and the company before global rollout of "Bloom" as a global data platform by the end of December 2024. "Empowering People to Build Brighter Futures (Human Capital Report) 2024" introduces several items such as the following with quantitative data:

  • The process of value creation by diverse employees around the world
  • Efforts to improve productivity through the introduction of a new HR system and the promotion of women's active participation
  • Initiatives to improve employee engagement, which is an important indicator for measuring the effectiveness of human resources strategies

In August 2024, Mitsui obtained the certification of ISO30414*, a set of guidelines for quantifying, analyzing, and disclosing human capital-related information.

We set "Promotion of globally diverse individuals" as one of the key strategies in our Medium-Term Management Plan 2026. We will continue to visualize Mitsui's philosophy and initiatives related to "people" and steadily implement human resources strategies and specific measures with quantitative data that will lead to sustainable enhancement in corporate value.

* One of the management system standards of the International Organization for Standardization. The guidelines comprehensively and systematically cover 58 metrics divided into 11 main categories, such as human resources development and diversity, and have been formulated with the purpose of improving companies' HR initiatives by quantifying and visualizing them.
