Notice regarding support for restoration of fire-stricken Shurijo Castle

Mitsui & Co. Ltd. ("Mitsui", Head Office: Tokyo, President and CEO: Tatsuo Yasunaga) announced that its Kyushu Office and Naha Branch have contributed ¥2 million to Okinawa Prefecture in the hope of supporting the swift restoration of Shurijo Castle, a symbol of Okinawa and UNESCO World Heritage site which suffered severe damage from a large-scale fire on the morning of October 31, 2019.

In addition to this contribution, we will also be calling for employees to make donations of their own to support this cause.

On behalf of all Mitsui employees, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the people of Okinawa and all those affected, and wish for the earliest possible restoration of Shurijo Castle.
