Campaign to Plant One Tree in One of Mitsui's Forests for Every Eligible Product Sold by THE NORTH FACE

THE NORTH FACE, a brand operated by GOLDWIN INC. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Takao Watanabe), has commenced a project to plant approximately 4,000 larch trees in the Numata Forest* which is owned by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui", Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Kenichi Hori). The project was carried out from 2nd to 9th November.

This initiative is part of the "One Product One Tree Meets Back to School Campaign" being run by THE NORTH FACE between March 5 and 21, 2021. One tree will be planted for every eligible product sold in directly operated THE NORTH FACE outlets throughout Japan and stores selling THE NORTH FACE brand products, as well as via the brand's official online store. As a brand associated with outdoor activities, THE NORTH FACE conceived of the campaign as a way of encouraging individuals to think about what they can do for the global environment through the act of consciously choosing products. Mitsui supported this concept and helped to turn the project into reality by proposing that the trees be planted in one of its forests. Mitsui will continue to protect and nurture "Mitsui's Forests," respect and demonstrate the multifaceted functions of the forests, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
