The Mitsui & Co. Environment Fund

Introduction to Grant Projects

Partnership Support Center (recommended by the Mitsui & Co. Chubu Office)

Surveying and raising awareness of collaborative conservation initiatives by NPOs and companies

Activity grant

Project Description

While there is a healthy amount of volunteer-supported environmental conservation activity being carried out, sustaining this action can be a problem. As collaborative initiatives by NPOs and companies which are advanced with financial backing have an advantage when it comes to sustainability and development, this project will build a network of NPO support centers and universities across Japan, search for examples of these collaborations, and compile and issue a report on the subject. The research will leverage the know-how the Partnership Support Center has gained through the selection process it uses when awarding the 'Partnership Prize' for NPO and corporate collaborations. The collection of case-studies containing information on the successes of and outlook for individual initiatives will serve as a model for the various issues faced by NPOs and companies when collaborating, encouraging further collaborations and promoting effective conservation initiatives.
