Introduction to Grant Projects

Blue Support Iwate

Removal and cleaning of underwater debris

Activity grant

Project Description

Since the Great East Japan Earthquake the amount of rubble on the land has decreased. Heavy machinery has removed large pieces of underwater rubble; however, a lot of the other rubble still remains submerged. Mostly within the boat harbors, scuba divers confirm the existence of rubble underwater. We then consider whether to bring up the rubble by hand or haul it up by rope of other means onto boats, then we bring the rubble up.
