Mitsui & Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the formation of new business units as a result of the following organizational changes, which will take effect from April 1, 2015.

1. Purpose of Organizational Changes

The purpose of the changes is to accelerate progress toward the realization of the vision defined in our current Medium-term Management Plan. By establishing the IT & Communication Business Unit and the Corporate Development Business Unit, we will create a structure to reinforce our earnings base and demonstrate our integrated strengths flexibly and effectively in our seven Key Strategic Domains.

2. Business Units Reorganization

(1) Creation of IT & Communication Business Unit
We have identified information and communications technology (ICT) as a field that offers expanding business opportunities in today's rapidly changing business environment. The new business unit will provide integrated, optimized solutions to customer needs and expand our earnings base by accelerating business model innovation in a number of areas, including the Internet, media (to be transferred from the Consumer Service Business Unit) and IT services, and by using ICT to create added value based on the unique capabilities of Mitsui & Co.

(2) Creation of Corporate Development Business Unit
This business unit will establish an earnings base using business expertise, including financial and logistics know-how, relating to all of our Key Strategic Domains. It will also be directly responsible for the implementation of strategic projects that contribute to the evolution of our business models and will flexibly invest management resources, including personnel from throughout the Mitsui & Co. organization, in those projects.

The existing Innovation & Corporate Development Business Unit will be restructured to create the two new business units, which will belong to the Innovation & Corporate Development Segment.
