Major Activities

Establishing a consumer-centric business through partnership

Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (“Mitsui”) subscribed to convertible bonds issued by CT, the holding company of Indonesia-based conglomerate. CT has extensive reach to a wide group of local consumers through the operation of its diverse consumer-centric businesses, including financial services, retail, media, property, and entertainment.

Our aim is to promote the establishment of a consumer-centric strategic partnership with CT by encouraging the involvement of various stakeholders within and outside of Mitsui, as well as to formulate a strategic vision for the project.

Leveraging Mitsui’s corporate/business development capabilities and global network to enhance CT’s corporate value

Mitsui’s Business Units work closely with each team under CT’s business groups for various business collaborations that are expected to contribute to accelerating CT’s business growth. These include—but are not limited to—the items listed below:

  • Media
    Leveraging our assets and network, we aim to expand the customer base of CT's media platforms and capture a portion of the total market share of Indonesia's rapidly growing digital media landscape, which has been driven by the surging use of smartphones and the internet among Gen Z and Millennials.
  • Retail
    Amid the rapidly changing and diversifying consumer demands in Indonesia as a result of the country’s continuous growth, we are pursuing opportunities to leverage our expertise in retail operations (e.g., data-driven management, supply chain optimization, marketing and merchandising) in Japan and/or other experienced markets in order to contribute to the enhancement of CT’s retail businesses.
  • Property
    We aim to increase the value and attractiveness of Trans Mall Group (“TMG”) under CT by serving as a bridge between our partners. In alignment with CT’s commitment to the green economy, PT. Xurya Daya Indonesia, our affiliate and a leading distributed solar power developer/operator, is in collaboration with TMG and has installed rooftop solar power systems at three facilities under TMG in Bandung, Cibubur, and Makassar.
