We have recently been made aware of widespread fraudulent activity by criminals in China posing as executives and employees of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Mitsui & Co. affiliate companies.
Details are as follows:

• Person approaches opposite gender on matchmaking sites, leading to exchange of WeChat details and further correspondence.
• Person claims to be a Mitsui & Co. or Mitsui & Co. affiliate company employee, building credibility by presenting false internal documents and fake ID cards which include the unauthorized use of the company logo.
• Person makes a false plea for help in reaching the company quota for member registrations and the introduction of a fake website, where personal data such as bank details are requested, and subsequently money is fraudulently deducted from the victim.
