Mitsui & Co. Ltd. ("Mitsui", Head Office: Tokyo, President and CEO: Kenichi Hori) has been selected as the best company for '2023 Awards for Excellence in Corporate Disclosure' by The Securities Analysts Association of Japan in the category of general trading companies. This is the 8th time in total and the 7th consecutive year that Mitsui has received this award.
The award selection process is carried out by the Corporate Disclosure Study Group, established by The Securities Analysts Association of Japan, who evaluates the quality, volume and timing of a company's' disclosure practices in accordance with the following criteria: (1) management's stance on investor relations, the function of a company's investor relations department, and a company's basic stance on investor relations; (2) disclosures by means of meetings, interviews and explanatory materials, (3) fairness of disclosure, (4) disclosure of information related to ESG and (5) voluntary disclosure of information based on the conditions of each respective industry. Mitsui was evaluated in top place in 3 out of 5 criteria.
Mitsui will strive to further enhance the quality and fairness of its corporate disclosure, and continue to deepen engagement with all stakeholders including investors, in order to improve its corporate value through sustainable growth and realize fair market valuation.
