Mitsui & Co. Real Estate Ltd. ("Mitsui & Co. Real Estate"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui") has been engaged in a large-scale redevelopment project, Hibiya Fort Tower. With the construction completed on June 30, this brand new office building constitutes a hub of four key business districts, namely, Hibiya, Kasumigaseki, Toranomon, and Shimbashi.
Before the redevelopment, the area included numerous older buildings. Accordingly, the concept of an integrated district development scheme was first conceived in 2005 from the perspectives of ensuring effective land use and disaster prevention measures. Work began in 2017 after approval was obtained for a large-scale redevelopment project covering an area of 1.2ha.
Hibiya Fort Tower boasts excellent amenities for the convenience and benefit of office workers, including the Sky Lounge, Sky Garden, conference area, and a food hall. Another instrumental component of the project is an underground network of passageways linking buildings in the area on the second basement level, allowing people to access the area from the Uchisaiwaicho and Kasumigaseki subway stations. Further, to support flexible workstyles of office workers, the development also features a SOHO (co-working space) and a childcare facility.
In addition to approximately 3,000 square meters of greenery, the development also offers a variety of environment-friendly design features. Furthermore, in terms of the approach to SDGs, Hibiya Fort Tower introduces reverse vending machines, with which every time plastic bottles are collected, points will be earned which can be used to purchase wellness-related products and services. Hibiya Fort Tower will provide sustainable workspace with the latest specifications.
Mitsui will continue to bring new value to society and contribute to sustainable urban development through Mitsui & Co. Real Estate.
