Mitsui Donates US$ 70,000 to Aid Mozambique Flood Relief Efforts

Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui" Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Tatsuo Yasunaga) provided a US$ 70,000 (approximately 8.4 million yen and which includes US$ 10,000 from the Mitsui & Co. Africa Fund*) cash donation to the Instituto Nacional de Gestão Calamidades (INGC), which serves as the disaster relief agency of Mozambique, to aid relief efforts in the areas affected by the floods which hit the central and northern parts of the Republic of Mozambique earlier this year.

Mitsui offers its deepest condolences to those affected by this disaster, and hopes that this contribution will provide some measure of relief to those who continue to suffer in the wake of this tragedy.

* Mitsui & Co. Africa Fund: The fund was established in 2012 in order to support Mitsui's contributions to Africa in areas such as education, nation building and environmental and social issues. Through the fund's activities, Mitsui also aims to promote an awareness of Africa within the company.
