One Mitsui

The One Mitsui initiative is the vision for an inclusive charitable spirit which is fostered by an expanding number of activities that include Mitsui Qualified Group Company participants.

By giving for the sake of giving, employees of Mitsui Group Companies help to enrich the lives of others through social contribution activities in the community and in the office.

One Mitsui Initiatives are supported by The Mitsui U.S.A. Foundation, a U.S. 501(c)(3) charity established 1987 in New York. At times One Mitsui programs are co-shared with Mitsui Qualified Group Company participants.

One Mitsui programs include:

Mitsui Matching Volunteers

Support of company-sponsored groups of employees and family members that volunteer to improve the quality of life in the local community through charitable actions based upon employee participation.

Mitsui Matching Volunteers provide support, via volunteerism, of qualified(*) U.S. organizations’ well-developed programs engaged in the promotion of basic human needs

(*) status designated by IRS code 501(c)(3)

Mitsui Matching Volunteers intent is to double the contribution to a charitable organization, once through an employee’s time & talent, and again through the Mitsui USA Foundation’s grant dollars.

Mitsui Sons' & Daughters' Scholarships

The Sons’ & Daughters’ Scholarships is a merit-based program for dependent children of full-time, locally-hired Mitsui USA staff or participating Qualified Group Companies for accredited undergraduate-level studies.

Mitsui Sons' & Daughters' Scholarships are administered by Scholarship America® [C1]. -- In no instance does any officer or employee of Mitsui, its Group Companies, or its Foundations play a part in selections.

Limitations

One Mitsui programs only consider support of qualified organizations with U.S. 501(c)(3) status.

Specifically, One Mitsui cannot support any discriminatory organization; individuals; or religious, fraternal, athletic, political, or lobbying groups; or endowments / building campaigns; or advertisements, films, television (media) productions; or social events, galas, or dinner tables / tickets (raffles); or other causes which may not be acceptable Mitsui.

Exception: Mitsui Matching Volunteers support can be made to religious groups for qualified charitable activities, designated projects, which are all inclusive of the community at large.

One Mitsui gives only for charitable purposes and does not accept benefits from its support.
