Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui," Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Tatsuo Yasunaga) has acquired shares in Legoliss Inc. ("Legoliss," Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO & Co-founder: Katsuaki Sakai), a company developing a business that uses data to provide marketing support, and has converted it into a subsidiary.
Legoliss builds and installs data management platforms that can manage the large volume of data that is accumulated by a company through its day-to-day business and provides support on how to analyze and utilize this data. It has also built a track record as a leader in providing support for many clients, including major Japanese companies, for using data in their marketing, through methods such as establishing an environment to turn data into information that can be swiftly and effectively used in marketing initiatives, and operating a consulting service for posting online ads and an ad management business.
In recent years, it has become common for an individual consumer to use multiple devices (such as a computer and a smartphone) and there is a growing need for marketing that recognizes and communicates with an individual consumer rather than an individual device. In order to meet this demand, Mitsui is working to implement business that supports the sophisticated usage of consumer data, as evidenced by its business partnership with Drawbridge, Inc., a pioneering US company which possesses technology that can link the multiple devices belonging to an individual owner (cross-device matching).
Mitsui will combine Legoliss' knowledge and expertise in using consumer data to provide business support with the expertise and technology provided by its US partners such as Drawbridge to provide a cutting-edge data marketing function that can use consumer data to realize sales and profit growth.
