Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsui", Head Office: Tokyo, President and CEO: Tatsuo Yasunaga) has agreed to jointly plan and verify initiatives for the first project of CRESNECT (Creation Space Connect), a collaborative platform announced on February 21, 2018, by Daikin Industries, Ltd., ("Daikin Industries", Head Office: Osaka, President and CEO: Masanori Togawa) which aims to create "Future Office Spaces".
CRESNECT is a collaborative innovation platform which leverages the know-how of partner companies, creates new value, solutions and services centered on various spatial data. Mitsui will play a role in building a business model for the full-scale commercialization of CRESNECT by utilizing know-how and experience built through initiatives across related service-based business areas. Alongside this, Mitsui also plans to sell the solutions and products from CRESNECT as a valued added package of service provided under "Air as a Service ("AaaS")*", a joint venture funded by Mitsui and Daikin Airtechnology and Engineering Co., Ltd ("DAT"). The solutions and products from CRESNECT can be also deployed on-site at a further 500 of Mitsui's consolidated affiliate companies. Furthermore, as part of initiatives to achieve Digital Transformation across a range of industries and social infrastructures, Mitsui will play a role in contributing to the planning and development of solutions for CRESNECT, utilizing the business assets of the Mitsui Group, as well as the products, technologies, and related know-how of Mitsui's affiliated companies and companies in its investment portfolio.
* In July 2016, Mitsui and DAT jointly established AaaS, which provides comfortable air-conditioned spaces for buildings at a fixed monthly fee. AaaS owns and installs air-conditioning equipment in buildings and commercial facilities on behalf of owners and manages operations according to the scale and actual air-conditioning usage. The company began offering services from 2017.
