MITSUI USA CONTRIBUTES $90,711 TO HAITI EARTHQUAKE DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS

Employees of Mitsui USA and its subsidiaries responded to the Haiti earthquake with an outpouring of sympathy, raising $40,711 (including the Foundation's match) through the Mitsui USA Foundation's special disaster matching gifts campaign that was held for three weeks immediately after the disaster on January 12, 2010.

As previously reported, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Mitsui USA's parent company in Japan, announced a 10 million yen donation to aid the relief operations. As part of this pledge, Mitsui USA contributed $50,000 to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross designated for Haiti relief and development.

Employee efforts combined with the corporate donation raised a total of $90,711. "We are proud of our employees' outpour of sympathy to the people suffering from this tragic event," said Masaaki Fujita, President & CEO of Mitsui USA.
