In July 2017, Mitsui & Co. Ltd. entered into a capital and business partnership with US’s company Drawbridge, Inc., and began to offer the company’s services to the Japan market.
Drawbridge uses unique technology to provide advertising and data marketing companies with cross-device matching data across multiple devices such as PCs, smartphones and tablets linked to an individual owner. The company is the leader in the field, possessing the cross-device data of over 3.3 billion device units (about 1 billion people) worldwide.
This technology allows companies to place a per-consumer limit on the number of times an advertisement is shown to a consumer, thereby preventing the advertisement from being shown to the same person many times. Even in E-commerce, it judges whether the same person is using a different device and leads to more effective product recommendations.
In the Japan market there are increasing opportunities for individual consumers to be using multiple devices, and the importance of consumer behavior analysis and marketing across devices is continuing to grow.
This capital and business partnership with Drawbridge will allow Mitsui to contribute to the realization of marketing measures optimized in consumer units in the Japan market, alongside supporting the global development of the company in Asia.
