Announcement of a merger of Mitsui's logistics subsidiaries

Mitsui & Co. Ltd. ("Mitsui," head office: Tokyo; President and CEO: Masami Iijima), has decided to merge its subsidiaries Tri-net Logistics Co. Ltd. ("TNL") and Mitsui Bussan Logistics Management Co. Ltd ("MLM"). An outline of the merger process is provided below.

1. Purpose of Merger

The merger will allow the organic integration of the two companies' human resources and functions, leading to the expansion of their business activities and earnings base. The specific aim of the merger is to combine TNL's expertise in the warehousing and distribution processing fields with MLM's knowledge in such areas as consulting on logistics improvement and refrigerated logistics center management to create an organization offering one-stop access to marketing and proposal capabilities.
