Mitsui USA subsidiary acquires IQF Group

On May 20, 2010, Novus International, Inc. (Novus), a majority-owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc., acquired the IQF Group. The acquisition includes 100% shares of Investigaciones Quimicas y Farmaceuticas, S.A. (IQF), Carotenoid Technologies S.A. (Carotech) and IQF ENAMEX, S.A. (Enamex).

The IQF Group, based in Tarragona, Spain and Cordoba, Mexico, is a leading producer of natural feed carotenoid pigments for the poultry, swine, ruminant and aquaculture markets and has a presence in over 60 countries worldwide. Carotenoid pigments are added to animal feed to enhance meat and egg color and nutritional value, and respond to an increasing demand for natural products.

Novus's acquisition of the IQF Group is expected to enable Novus to capitalize on a well-respected brand and to expand its product portfolio for new and existing animal agriculture customers around the world.
