Transportation Logistics
This is the Mitsui USA Division which deals in logistics services, logistics technologies, supply chain management, procurement, and logistics investments through its departments of traffic business and corporate traffic logistics.
Around the world, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, Japan, China, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia, the Division, with its affiliates, provides logistics solution services including: arrangements, coordination and consultation on supply chain management; management of the entire supply chain, including logistics and procurement as the third party provider; IT services; and investment opportunities.
Between the U.S. and Japan, China, and other Asian countries, the Division is especially proficient in international logistics for: domestic warehousing and distribution; arrangements for project cargoes; outsourcing and procurement; IT solutions for the management of orders and inventory; investments in dedicated warehouses, distribution and cargo transloading centers; and investments in logistics companies and insurance funds.
As an international trading company, this Mitsui USA Division is ready to provide unique and comprehensive logistics services for its customers. It has intensive knowledge and experience in logistics activities, with a vast capability for procurement, risk management, including insurance arrangements, and investments. For example, the Division can manage all procurement and logistics arrangements for its customers as their third party service provider, and provide investment opportunities for logistics facilities, as well. The Division provides fully developed, internet-based Supply Chain Management software, to assist in all necessary functions and visibility to conduct business in one place. The Division also arranges logistics for project cargoes, such as turbines and transformers for power plants. The Division has been a leading logistics provider of inland transportation for project cargoes manufactured by major Japanese companies.
The Division is supported by its affiliates, such as Tri-Net Logistics Management (USA) Inc. with ocean/air transportation arrangements, forwarding, warehousing & distribution, project cargo transportation, investment, and Supply Chain Management; and Tri-Net Logistica Brazil Ltda. with logistics arrangements in Brazil and a bonded warehouse. The Division has strong business relationships with Komatsu and Toshiba.
To understand the scope of the Transportation Logistics Division, it has more than 30 logistics affiliates world-wide, including 6 China-based warehousing companies. In Long Beach, CA, its affiliate manages 800,000 square feet of trans-loading facilities. This Division maintains close contact with more than 100 logistics companies, including ocean carriers, air carriers, rail operators, trucking companies, warehousing companies, customhouse brokers and insurance companies.
