MITSUI USA GIVES $50,000 TO AID RELIEF EFFORTS OF THE JANUARY 12 EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI AND THE MITSUI USA FOUNDATION MATCHES ALL EMPLOYEE DONATIONS DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR

New York- Mitsui & Co. ( U.S.A.), Inc. (Mitsui USA) announced today a $50,000 cash donation on behalf of its Americas operations to support the relief efforts in Haiti.

Mitsui USA's donation, part of a 10 million yen donation announced yesterday by Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Mitsui USA's parent company in Japan, will be donated to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross. Additionally, The Mitsui USA Foundation, Mitsui USA's charitable arm, will make a special dollar-for-dollar match for Mitsui USA's and its qualified group companies' employee donations for relief operations in Haiti.

Mr. Masaaki Fujita, President & CEO of Mitsui USA and Chief Operating Officer of Mitsui Americas Business Unit, noted, "As a concerned global citizen, we care about the wellbeing of our neighbors in the Americas. This is a desperate situation in Haiti and we hope that Mitsui can help relieve some of the suffering of the survivors."
