MITSUI USA GIVES $50,000 TO AMERICAN RED CROSS HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF
AND ITS FOUNDATION MATCHES ALL EMPLOYEE DONATIONS DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR

Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc., New York, (Mitsui USA) announced today a $50,000 cash donation to aid the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts.

Additionally, Mitsui USA President & CEO Motokazu Yoshida announced that the company's charitable arm, The Mitsui USA Foundation, New York, will launch a special matching program for all employee donations to the American Red Cross efforts for Hurricane Katrina.

Mr. Yoshida noted, "This is such a tragedy, and a time to help our neighbors survive and rebuild their lives. Through the Red Cross it is my greatest wish at this time that Mitsui USA can provide some support and encouragement."
