Mitsui USA Presents $100,000 to the American Red Cross
for Tsunami Disaster Relief


Yesterday, Mitsui USA's Washington DC senior management took time to hand deliver the Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc., New York, (Mitsui USA) $100,000 cash donation to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C., answering U.S. President George W. Bush's call for help.

Mitsui USA's donation will be a part of joint efforts mobilized to assess and distribute the needed relief. The American Red Cross is working in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and other local and regional partners to meet the needs of more than 2 million tsunami-affected people in Sri Lanka, Indonesia and the Maldives.

Mitsui USA Washington DC General Manager S. Hamano notes, "As Mitsui USA President Tada said, truly 'we are a community of one world,' and our Washington DC Office is honored to be a part of this to help facilitate quick receipt for the Red Cross' specialized relief efforts."
