MITSUI USA MAKES STRATEGIC INVESTMENT IN SAVI TECHNOLOGY

Companies Will Work Together to Extend Real-Time
Logistics Solutions to Global Markets

NEW YORK, NY AND SUNNYVALE, CA -- Aug. 25, 2004 -- Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc. (Mitsui USA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Japan (NasdaqNM: MITSY), one of the world's most diversified trading and service enterprises, and Savi Technology, Inc., a leading provider of real-time networked solutions for the management and security of supply chain assets, co-announced today that Mitsui USA has invested in privately-held Savi Technology, through a $10 million investment in Infolink Systems, Inc., a holding company and parent of Savi Technology.
